Tick Tick, I Smell Cheese!

  A blind rat with a cane and a meditating plucked chicken in a turban are both pretty memorable images. Even if they didn't make for associations with specific grocery items they were fun and hard to forget. They fell right in with
the the renovating tooth mural on my truck.

The two lists were good enough to share with the cashier. I had to wait till they emailed them back to do the article.



One of the most challenging things
about using the rat shot was keeping
him funky and clunky in paint. I'm
still new to paintings, it's weird but fun.

The Grocery List As A Mental Calisthenic

Commonly encountered mnemonics are often used for lists and in auditory form, such as short poems, acronyms, or memorable phrases, but mnemonics can also be used for other types of information in visual or kinesthetic forms. Their use is based on the observation that the human mind more easily remembers spatial, personal, surprising, physical, sexual, humorous, or otherwise "relatable" information, rather than more abstract or impersonal forms of information.    (courtesy of Wikipedia)


Though silly and fun, sometimes a really good list can be a bit distracting. Since they're hard to throw away, a date is a good idea.
